About Me, Yours Truly

My husband and I

Hello there, my name is Jennifer Lynn and I thank you so much for stopping by! I am the founder of Elegant Living Everyday.

This blog was started as an online community for women, mothers, girls and anyone who wants to learn or be reminded of the lost art of elegance and poise.

On this journey you will find the secrets to unleash your elegance!

“Elegance is not about being noticed, it’s about being remembered”

-Habeeb Akande

My mission is to help others seek out and embrace their elegance.

With practice, dedication, and perseverance it can be attained and mastered.

This is the secret to living a passionate and fulfilling life.

I started this lifestyle blog as a way to inspire woman of all ages to live better lives. To find the beauty in everyday and to deeply enjoy the journey.

To unleash your elegance is not some shallow message where I think it is necessary to purchase expensive jewelry and only high end name brand clothes. That couldn’t be farther from the truth.

To truly unleash your elegance, you must be prepared to be on a path to self discovery. You will learn more about yourself in aspects that you may have overlooked before. Not only is elegance about being gracious and helping others but it is about finding out what truly brings you pure happiness.

You will be a changed person for the better, and people will take notice.

To Be Elegant

It was many years ago that I had decided that I wanted to study deportment, practice poise, and learn proper etiquette.

I thought it was just as easy as learning a few tricks to look like Audrey Hepburn and brush up on my manners. That is when I realized how much more it means to be elegant.

Instead of constantly asking myself…

“How do I do my makeup and hair, or act like a woman who has it all together?”

“What can I do help others to make their day better?”

Your mindset automatically shifts from selfish thoughts to more generous and giving thoughts. This will eventually soften you and make you more humble.

This is a beautiful thing because it brings joy to others and also a great purpose to your life. Not only are you making the world around you better but because of the genuine happiness you are feeling, it shows up on your face with a beautiful smile and loving eyes.

Join me on a life long learning adventure as we discuss everything from health and fitness to food and wellness. Ranging from tips and tricks to keeping a beautiful and efficient home to how to dress to accentuate your best attributes. We will touch upon current events and beauty and style.

On this blog you will see how to live well, my advice for different situations, spruce up on your manners and etiquette and many how to’s and step by step posts on bettering yourself!

My Inspiration

One of my inspirations
Ms Hepburn, inspiration to many with her beauty, charm, and her generosity!

I owe my own self discovery to the Golden era of Hollywood. These women had class, they were delicate and strong simultaneously. They were vulnerable but at the same time wouldn’t wear their heart on their sleeve.

Their sense of style was never too relaxed or casual, they always made an effort in respect for themselves and to others. They did not seem to need to always shock people with their naked bodies barely clothed and outrageous public stunts.

Their private lives were, well, private.

But it wasn’t just the actresses of that time that I admire, it was also the real ladies. Our grandma’s and great-grandmothers, the ones that had to deal with wars, depressions, food scarcity, going without, making do, those are the real women who had class.

Our Grandmothers should be our role models

Making feasts out of potatoes and carrots, uplifting their families’ spirits in tough times, and keeping their house a home where people felt happy. They were the glue that held the family together.

With the weight of the world on their shoulders, they kept their composure and remained gracious. They had great respect for their house, their appearance, their reputations, and their families.

Facing all the adversity that we could never truly understand, they kept strong and poised while doing so. If that isn’t admirable, then I don’t know what is. If I could have half of the elegance these women embodied, I’d be happy with that.

“Elegance is the only beauty that never fades.”

-Audrey Hepburn

One last thing about me…

My puppy
My puppy, Louise. She’s being so good because she thinks she’s going to get a treat. How adorable!

I am a 30-something Canadian woman living a simple life. I work, I go home, I walk my dog, spend time with my husband and I write.

I much prefer to be outside (unless in January, February, and sometimes March…gotta love those Canadian winters!) and in the summer my husband and I enjoy gardening and tending to weeds.

I love to read just about anything and a couple of my favourite pastimes is window shopping at home decoration stores and getting lost on Pinterest.

I sincerely hope you will enjoy my blog and be inspired. If I could influencce just one person I would be the happiest woman in the world.

Accompany me on this journey to persue and master elegance in everyday.

Stay a while, browse and keep it elegant.
