Hello my elegant friends!

 

Today, on my video we are talking about mastering self-discipline!

 

This one I know more than myself struggles with and I just wish we didn’t have to! When you’re more self-disciplined and strict with yourself, the pay off is massive!

 

It can be better fitting clothes, a glowing complexion, having all your work done ahead of schedule, the stress can dwindle down and be almost invisible.

 

Here are my 5 ways for Mastering Self-Discipline

1) Get rid of all distractions

To put it very simply, remove everything that may tempt you to do anything BUT what you’re supposed to be doing.

I know that if I don’t try, I will be looking at my social media accounts, petting my dog, looking up the news, or anything else that will waste my time.

The distractions will just drag you down and you will feel bummed out that you weren’t able to get more accomplished.

Find out what your distractions are, and use them for #3!

 

2) You can’t multi-task, so quit it!

Like I said in my video, I can hear all the moms out there rolling their eyes!

We all can multi-task to a degree, but what is really getting done effectively?

The answer is probably not much, so if you can try to force yourself to focus on one thing at a time. Fully put all your attention into the one task and not only will you be done faster, but the job will be done better as well!

 

3) Reward yourself

I am a huge fan of this!

I love the fact that after I know I do something, that I will be able to have something that I enjoy.

It really motivates me to do something faster that’s for sure.

This can be really anything, whether it is food or the internet, maybe even a nap if it is deserved!

If you’re trying to lose weight, I would recommend not using a food-based reward. Perhaps aim for more of an physical experience, such as going for a walk or something else that excited the senses!

 

4) Be proud of yourself

If you aren’t proud of yourself, than no one will be and you will be a sad, sad person.

I used to always look for external closure and appreciation, but I will tell you, that is just setting yourself up for failure. Maybe not then, but it will happen when you think you spent so much effort on something and then it gets disregarded.

That is why I think it is important to do it all for yourself.

Look back at those towels you folded, the table you set, the work you did in your career.

If you take only one thing from this whole post, I would say this one is probably the most important and the one you will always benefit from until the day you die!

5) Be honest with yourself

Don’t put too much on your plate.

You know exactly what you can handle. I totally understand when you try to get more done during the day. So you see a time that you can squeeze some chore in there.

Then reality hits, and when it comes time to do your scheduled in chore, it becomes impossible. Then you begin to feel discouraged and that can also lead to more problems.

So, like I said, always be completely honest with yourself.

 

Conclusion

An elegant woman always strives to have self-discipline every day. Of course there are temptations that can knock her off her tracks.

But what makes her so elegant is that she never strives too far. With a bit of self-discipline and self-love she knows that she deserves to pay better attention to either what she needs or what she has to get done.

Do yourself a favor and give yourself the gift of self-discipline!

Practice it, use every day an excuse to perfect it.
